Description
mozilla firefox still lacks the iconbar icon, and is unable to update the mime-info properly for gnome integration. it may have something to do with ORBit2?

It seems this is an old problem that pops up once in a while.
See:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294375#c6
(and also, less so, here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273524)
People suggest turning off firefox “Check to see if default”, and use the GNOME “Preferred Application” in the Control Panel.
I think the icon problem is unrelated. Other apps, like xterm, seem to be missing default icons as well. :/

In the firefox release notes, there is the suggestion that:
If Firefox is installed to a location with spaces in the path, it may not be able to set itself as default browser and may keep prompting at startup. The work around is to install into a path without spaces.
Don’t think this applies. :)

I guess ubuntu had this disabled for a while (patch later removed?)
